The Democratic Party has officially endorsed Kamala Harris to run in the US presidential election on 5 November.

The announcement was made during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Harris’ home state of California gave her 482 votes, putting her at the top of the ticket at the end of the convention.

On 6 August, the Democratic National Committee announced Harris as the party’s official presidential candidate after a five-day online voting process.

. Harris’ endorsement came on the second day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, which is being held at the United Center in Chicago from 19 to 22 August.
