A fire has broken out on a merchant ship off the coast of Yemen’s western province of Hodeidah after ‘the third such attack in as many hours’, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Agency (MTOA) has said.
The agency added in a statement that the ship’s captain reported another attack with an unknown projectile, that there was a fire on board and that the ship had lost power.
Earlier in the day, the British agency said an attack with three projectiles on the merchant vessel was followed by an exchange of fire with two small boats trying to control it.
