At least 13 people have died in floods caused by heavy rains in eastern Bangladesh, according to the country’s Disaster Management and Relief Department.
A total of 4.5 million people have been affected, nearly 190,000 others have moved to temporary shelters and one in 64 districts has been affected by the floods, the ministry said.
Bangladesh, home to 170 million people and hundreds of rivers, has experienced frequent floods in recent decades.
