Tunisian President Kais Saied reshuffled his cabinet on Sunday, affecting 19 ministers and three secretaries of state, including the ministers of foreign affairs and defence.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, President Kais Saied decided this morning (Sunday) to make a cabinet reshuffle.
Khalid al-Suhaili was appointed minister of defence, Mohamed Ali al-Natfi as minister of foreign affairs, immigration and Tunisians abroad, Mustafa al-Farjani as minister of health, and Samir Abdelhafiz as minister of economy and planning, the statement said.
Issam al-Ahmar was appointed minister of social affairs, Samir Obeid minister of trade and export development, Azzedine Ben Cheikh minister of agriculture, water resources and fisheries, and Noureddine al-Nouri minister of education, the statement added.
Saeed had announced on 8 August the appointment of Social Affairs Minister Kamel Medouri as head of the government, succeeding Ahmed Hachani, whom he appointed on 1 August 2023 after the end of former Prime Minister Najla Boudin’s term.
