Russia: Negotiations with Ukraine ‘pointless’ after Kursk attack

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that negotiations with Ukraine have become ‘meaningless’ following the latter’s attack on the Kursk.

Lavrov made the remarks at a press conference with Senegalese Foreign Minister Yacine Fall on Thursday following their meeting in Moscow.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently presented a new proposal for negotiations with Ukraine after Kiev and the West rejected previous proposals, Lavrov said.

He continued: ‘No one should have doubted our readiness to negotiate, but after Kiev’s adventure in Kursk, negotiations became meaningless.
On 6 August, Ukrainian forces launched a large-scale operation on the Kursk border, resulting in ongoing heavy clashes with the Russian army..
