The Tunisian Administrative Court decided on Thursday to accept Monther Znaidi’s candidacy for the presidential elections scheduled for 6 October, overturning the electoral commission’s decision to reject his file.
Faisal Bouguerra, spokesman for the Administrative Court, told local media that “the court accepted the form and content of candidate Al-Manthar Znaidi’s application, thus overturning the previous ruling, annulling the decision of the Electoral Commission and accepting his candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections,” Bouguerra said.
The court’s decision adds Znaidi to the list of accepted candidates, which includes incumbent President Kais Saeed and politicians Ayachi Zemal, Zuhair Meghzawi and Abdellatif Mekki.
