The Administrative Court in Tunisia ruled to return political activist Imad Daimi to the electoral race, overturning the initial ruling and canceling the decision of the Election Commission, within the framework of the second phase of litigation regarding disputes over candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections.
It is worth noting that the rulings of the Administrative Court in the second phase of litigation are final and not subject to appeal.
Regarding the decision of the Administrative Court to accept the appeals of candidates Mondher Zenaidi, Abdel Latif Mekki, and Imad Daimi and their return to the presidential race, the head of the Independent High Authority for Elections, Farouk Bouasker, stated that the Authority’s Council will make its decision regarding the announcement of the final list of candidates for the upcoming presidential elections, taking into account the decisions of the Administrative Court and the criminal rulings issued in the judicial article regarding the forgery of endorsements.
