The Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, ordered the formation of a League mission headed by Khalil Ibrahim Al-Dhawadi, Assistant Secretary General, , to participate in the monitoring of the Jordanian parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on September 10, in response to the invitation received by the Secretary General of the Arab League from Musa Al-Maaytah, Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission.

The League said in a statement that the participation also comes in light of the interest that the Arab League attaches to keeping abreast of the electoral entitlements held in its member states.
