The UK Maritime Trade Organization said that an entity has impersonated it and is asking commercial ships to provide information about their locations in the Red Sea, which is escalating due to Houthi attacks.

The organization stated that the British Navy has received reports about an entity claiming to be from the UKMTO, asking ships to turn on the AIS positioning system and update their current location.

The Maritime Organization also renewed its warning to ships to be careful when sailing in the area, and to report any suspicious activity.
