Pakistan announced on Saturday that 9 terrorists were killed in clashes in the northwest and southwest of the country, according to the German News Agency (DPA).

The Pakistani army said security forces foiled an attack on a Frontier Corps headquarters, killing a group of four suicide bombers in the Mehmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to the same source, the militants were eliminated on Friday morning as they attempted to attack the Frontier Corps headquarters.

The Pakistani army said a clearance operation was underway to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
