At least 11 dead and 9 missing in floods that hit southeastern Morocco, most of the affected areas are desert areas east of the High Atlas Mountains.
The Moroccan Interior Ministry said, “Following the very heavy thunderstorms that hit seventeen provinces of the Kingdom, the Interior Ministry announces, in a provisional toll, the registration of 11 deaths.”
Seven victims died in the Tata province, the most affected by the floods, and two in Errachidia, both in southeastern Morocco, while two others died in Tiznit in the southwest of the country. Nine people are still missing.
