South Korea said North Korea fired several short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast on Thursday, its first launch in more than two months.
Pyongyang “fired an unspecified ballistic missile into the East Sea,” also known as the Sea of Japan, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
Japan’s coast guard also reported that a projectile believed to be a ballistic missile fired from North Korea had landed.
Japan’s Kyodo news agency, citing a Japanese government source, said there were no reports of damage from the alleged missile.
