Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said today (Thursday) that Russia is confident that the project to build the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey will be completed within the agreed time frame, despite obstacles imposed by Western companies.
Grushko stated that the Akkuyu nuclear power plant project is one of the most important projects within the framework of mutually beneficial Russian-Turkish cooperation in the economic sphere, according to Russia’s Sputnik news agency.
In late July, Russia’s Rosatom reported that the installation of monitoring and control systems in the reactor plant had begun at Unit 1 of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, which is being built with Russian participation.
