The Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for an attack targeting civilians from the Hazara Shiite community in Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of 14 people and injuries to 4 others.
The attack occurred on the road linking the provinces of Daykundi and Ghor, as the victims were heading to welcome pilgrims returning from Karbala.
In a related statement, ISIS indicated that its goal was to target the Shiite sect, as its fighters opened fire on the civilians.
