The US embassy in Baghdad accused groups loyal to Iran of attacking what is known as the US diplomatic support complex in Iraq, with no reports of injuries.

The US embassy said in a statement: “Evidence indicates that the attack was launched by groups allied with Iran and operating freely in Iraq.”

The diplomatic support complex attached to the US embassy in Baghdad was previously targeted on January 3, 2022, coinciding with the second anniversary of the assassination of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani and deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in a US strike in the Iraqi capital.
