Blinken visits Egypt to discuss Gaza negotiations and chair strategic dialogue between the two countries.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement that Blinken will travel to Egypt on Tuesday, where he will meet with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Ati to launch the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.

 

Secretary Blinken will meet with Egyptian officials to discuss ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza that will ensure the release of all hostages, alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, and contribute to broader regional security.”

According to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Blinken’s visit to Egypt will last until September 19.

Blinken’s current visit is his tenth to the Middle East since the war on Gaza began on October 7.
