On Wednesday, Jordan’s new Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan and members of his cabinet were sworn in by King Abdullah II.
The new government includes 32 ministers, including the prime minister and 14 ministers who were part of the resigned government of Bishr al-Khasawneh, most notably Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya.
Hassan reduced the number of his deputies to just one, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, from three in the previous government.
Hassan is the 14th prime minister under King Abdullah II since he assumed his constitutional powers on February 7, 1999.
