Lebanese Health Minister Firas al-Abyad confirmed on Wednesday that a number of people were injured in new explosions targeting telecommunications equipment in different parts of Lebanon.
The Lebanese News Agency reported that a number of people were injured in a new cyber attack targeting wireless communication devices and pagers in Baalbek.
Media sources confirmed that three people were killed and more than 20 others injured in the explosion of the devices in the town of Sahmar in Rashaya, western Bekaa.
Reuters quoted security sources as saying that ‘dozens of people were injured today in the explosion of telecommunications equipment in Lebanon’.
On Tuesday, telecommunications equipment exploded in several areas considered strongholds of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, killing 12 people and wounding 2,800 others.
