unisian President Kais Said issued a decision on Thursday to dismiss the director of public television.
According to the official website of the Tunisian Presidency of the Republic, the decision included the dismissal of director Awatif Dali and the appointment of a new director, Chokri Ben Nassib.

Dali had held the post on an interim basis since 28 July 2021, three days after President Kais Saied announced the suspension of parliament as a prelude to the dissolution of the political system. She was confirmed in her position by presidential decree on 20 June 2023.

The decision to dismiss her comes just weeks before presidential elections scheduled for 6 October.
