Despite a decrease in the number of migrants arriving from the Horn of Africa to Yemeni shores, government forces have intensified their campaigns against human traffickers and smugglers in Lahij Governorate in the south, resulting in the burning of several migrant detention centers.
In a statement from the forces led by Colonel Hamdi Shukri, it was reported that they raided new “hideouts” used by smugglers and destroyed their belongings.
Additionally, they pursued security fugitives associated with highway gangs in the Al-Muhalilah area of the Al-Mudhafer and Ras al-Arah districts, successfully dismantling sites used for drug smuggling.
