Preliminary figures announced today, Monday, indicate that the number of migrants who have arrived in the UK via the Channel using small boats has surpassed 25,000 since the beginning of the year.
These numbers come amid efforts by the new Labour government to curb the influx of migrants, similar to the actions taken by the previous Conservative government.
According to the Home Office, approximately 717 migrants crossed fr.om northern France on Sunday, bringing the total number of arrivals in 2024 to 25,052.
While this figure represents a 4% increase compared to last year, it indicates a 21% decrease compared to 2022.
