Israeli Army: Hezbollah Missile Reaches Tel Aviv for the First Time

The Israeli army reported on Wednesday that, for the first time ever, the Lebanese Hezbollah launched a missile that reached the Tel Aviv area before being intercepted by air defense systems.
A spokesperson for the army told AFP that this missile is the first of its kind to reach Tel Aviv, noting that it was successfully intercepted.
Earlier, the Israeli army announced it had intercepted a missile launched from Lebanon after air raid sirens sounded in the Tel Aviv area amid ongoing escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
The army added in a statement that it detected the launch of a ground-to-ground missile from Lebanon, which was intercepted by air defenses. In a related context, Israel has carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon for the third consecutive day, according to the National News Agency.
