Violent clashes continued in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Friday between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Media sources, quoting eyewitnesses, reported that heavy explosions were heard in central Khartoum as a result of artillery shelling and army warplanes, while columns of smoke rose from the area.
The same sources said the army bombed Rapid Support positions near the town of Bahri, north of Khartoum, in conjunction with intensive overflights of the Sudanese capital.
This military development comes a day after the Sudanese army launched the “biggest” attack on the Rapid Support positions it has seized in Khartoum since the outbreak of fighting between the two sides in April 2023.
