Seventeen people, including 15 women, have been killed in two houses close to each other in a rural town in South Africa, according to the police.

A search was underway for the suspects, national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said in a statement on Saturday.
Police say a manhunt has been launched after the attack in the southeast of the country, where mass shootings have lately become common.
