The Palestine National Liberation Movement (Fatah) announced on Monday that its delegation will meet with leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss Israel’s “genocidal war” in the Gaza Strip and achieve Palestinian reconciliation.
The delegation ‘includes Mahmoud al-Aloul, the movement’s deputy leader, Azzam al-Ahmad, a member of the movement’s Central Committee and a member of the Liberation Organisation’s Executive Committee, and Rawhi Fattouh, the head of the Palestinian National Council.
The delegation will discuss with Hamas leaders the Palestinian situation in light of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip and ways to provide relief to the population,” she said.
Since 2007, there has been a geographical and political split between Fatah and Hamas in Palestine, which many regional and international mediations and agreements have failed to end.
