More than 50 killed and dozens wounded in Israeli raids on Baalbek, eastern Lebanon

More than 50 people have been killed and dozens injured in Israeli raids on the city of Baalbek and villages in its district in eastern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News Agency (LNA) reported that Israeli warplanes resumed a series of raids on the region since midnight, targeting the area around the city of Baalbek and the villages of: Nabi Sheet, Hamoudiyeh, Nabha and neighbouring towns.

The National News Agency also said that medical personnel were killed after a medical centre in the town of Sahmar in the western Bekaa was targeted at dawn today.

It added that Israeli drones raided a car near the town of Arzoun (Tyre district), causing casualties, and that the al-Buss camp for Palestinian refugees in the same district was targeted, causing injuries.

Lebanon has been subjected to widespread Israeli attacks targeting border villages and infrastructure, killing and injuring thousands of Lebanese and forcing the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents of the targeted areas, as the Israeli entity has escalated its air and artillery attacks on various Lebanese provinces and regions since 7 October in conjunction with its ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
