Ukrainian authorities reported that at least 6 people were killed and 3 others were injured in a Russian artillery attack targeting a popular market in the city of Kherson, southern Ukraine, on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office said the attack was “most likely” carried out by Russian artillery and targeted an area near a public transport station.
The development comes as the fiercest fighting is in the eastern Donetsk region, where the Russian military is seeking to seize more territory before winter sets in.
In turn, Ukrainian forces have launched an incursion into Russia’s Kursk border region.
