Abdelfattah Ghaffar, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, handed over his duties on Wednesday to the new Governor, Naji Issa, and his deputy, Marei al-Barassi.
This took place in a ceremony attended by the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohammed al-Manfi, and the Chairman of the Handover Committee, Mohammed al-Shahibi.
Naji Issa arrived in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Tuesday after being sworn in by the Libyan House of Representatives, accompanied by his deputy Al-Barassi.
His appointment follows intensive consultations between the House of Representatives and the Council of State under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to unify Libya’s financial institution.
