The minister responsible for managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Government of “National Unity” temporarily, Tahrir Al-Baour, stated that Libya is seeking information regarding the management of frozen assets.
He indicated an acceptance of the idea of international joint oversight of those assets.
In an interview with a foreign channel on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, Al-Baour confirmed that lifting the freeze on the frozen Libyan assets, which were managed by the Libyan Investment Authority, faces challenges, as they were frozen in 2011 under a Security Council resolution.
