The Moroccan government decided on Thursday to provide financial support to rebuild homes affected by the floods and torrents that swept through the southeast of the country last month.
The government will provide direct financial aid to rehabilitate 1,121 houses, of which 269 have completely collapsed and 852 have partially collapsed, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Government.
The value of the aid will be $8,000 for each partially collapsed house and $14,000 for each completely collapsed house.
This comes as the death toll from a passenger bus that was swept away by floods in the town of Tata on 20 September has risen to 10 dead and 7 missing.
