Iranian foreign minister arrives in Beirut

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in the capital Beirut on Friday, coinciding with the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

Lebanon’s official news agency said Araqchi arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport on an Iranian plane, without giving further details.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in a blog post on the Xinhua platform: ‘We have now landed at Beirut International Airport.

Our delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Araqchi and including two members of parliament and the head of the Red Crescent Society, will meet with senior Lebanese officials,’ he said.

The visit includes ‘the delivery of 10 tonnes of food and medicine to Lebanon as part of Iran’s humanitarian aid’, Baghaei said.
