China Evacuates 215 Nationals from Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions

China announced on Saturday that it has evacuated 215 of its nationals from Lebanon amid escalating Israeli airstrikes on various regions. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that the 215 Chinese citizens were safely evacuated from Lebanon in two batches, organized and arranged by the Chinese government.
Israel has been conducting intensive airstrikes across large areas of Lebanon since September 23, and this week announced the commencement of limited ground operations in the southern part of the country.
In a related context, Lebanese authorities confirmed that the current escalation has resulted in over a thousand deaths and the displacement of more than a million people.
