Turkish authorities reported on Wednesday that they have blocked access to the American chat platform “Discord” to protect young users. The Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority clarified that this action is based on a court decision in Ankara.
Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç stated on the platform “X”: “We are determined to protect our youth and children from harmful content on the internet.”
“Discord” is popular among video game enthusiasts and is also used as a messaging tool in many companies. Additionally, it has become an alternative social network for those who wish to move away from Facebook and X.
