Nicaragua Cuts Diplomatic Relations with Israel

Nicaragua’s Vice President, Rosario Murillo, announced the severing of diplomatic relations with Israel, describing the Israeli government as “fascist” and committing genocide.
She stated that the decision is a response to Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories, with the President requesting the Foreign Ministry to proceed with this action.
Last Thursday, the Nicaraguan National Assembly approved a resolution urging the government to take measures coinciding with the first anniversary of the bloody Israeli war on Gaza.
This decision is primarily symbolic and political, given the near absence of exchanges between Managua and Israel, which has no ambassador in Managua.
