The spokesperson for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) stated to foreign media today (Saturday) that Israel’s targeting of its forces in southern Lebanon represents a “serious development.”

He added that Israel is violating Resolution 1701 by targeting UNIFIL forces, noting the ongoing Israeli attacks.

In this context, he clarified that Israeli forces have requested UNIFIL to stay away from the Blue Line, emphasizing the need to ensure the safety of their forces in the south and the deployment of the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon.
