Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Sunday to immediately remove the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) from “danger.”

In a video statement, Netanyahu noted that at least five UNIFIL personnel were injured in recent days during clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also informed U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that Israel would continue taking measures to avoid endangering UNIFIL forces.
