From the point of view of the German Foreign Minister, the Israeli occupation has the right to kill civilians by bombing the areas in which they live, if there are “terrorists who misuse them.”

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock addressed her country’s parliament on the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 last year.

Baerbock said that the right to self-defense “does not mean attacking terrorists, but destroying them.”

She added: “When Hamas members hide among people and behind schools, civilian areas lose their protected status because terrorists violate them.”
