The World Food Programme and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stated in a joint statement today, Tuesday, that humanitarian needs in Lebanon are increasing due to the Israeli aggression, calling for additional funding for relief assistance.
The joint statement from UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Ted Chaiban and World Food Programme Deputy Executive Director Carl Skau noted: “During a three-day visit to Lebanon, we witnessed destruction and felt the fear and confusion of the people. For them, the future remains uncertain as long as their country is under bombardment. The war that the world sought to avoid in Lebanon is now happening and has already caused a catastrophe.
