An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the southern Turkish province of Malatya on Wednesday.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (Avad) said on its website that the earthquake struck at 10:46 am .
It added that the epicentre was in the Qalaa district of Malatya and that the quake struck at a depth of 10.07 kilometres.
There were no immediate reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake, Malatya Mayor Sami Ar said in a press statement.
