The Nigerian police announced on Thursday that the death toll from the gasoline tanker explosion in northern Nigeria has risen to 153.
Police spokesman Lawan Shiyu Adam told foreign media that around 100 people, including children, were injured in the explosion that occurred in the town of Majia, with some in serious condition.
The fuel tanker had veered off its course to avoid colliding with a truck in Majia, which is located about 100 kilometers northeast of the city of Kano.
