The “International Security Working Group” concerning Libya convened today (Thursday) in Sirte for its first meeting, attended by Acting UN Envoy Stephanie Khoury, the Libyan Joint Military Committee 5+5, and representatives from the group associated with the Berlin Process.
This gathering comes amid a lack of a clear political solution in Libya, with UN efforts aimed at achieving consensus among the conflicting parties.
According to a source familiar with the meeting, the Security Working Group emphasized the importance of Libyans working to create a conducive environment for a comprehensive political settlement, while also stressing the need to adhere to the ceasefire agreement.
