Tunisian court sentences former minister to 10 years in prison

A Tunisian court sentenced former justice minister and leader of the Islamist movement Ennahda, Noureddine Beheiri, to 10 years in prison on Friday night.

Al-Beheiri is accused of ‘incitement and conspiracy against state security’, as are a number of other detained leaders, including the movement’s leader Rached Ghannouchi.
It is noteworthy that Beheiri has been detained since February 2023 on the charge of ‘conspiracy against state security’, in addition to other cases.
