Russian player Daria Kasatkina triumphed over her compatriot Mira Andreeva today (Sunday) with a score of 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, securing the title of the Ningbo Open in China and achieving her second victory of the season.
Kasatkina, the champion of the Eastbourne International, started the first set strongly, while Andreeva (17 years old) struggled with nerves. Despite Andreeva taking a 3-0 lead in the deciding set, Kasatkina regained her composure to secure her eighth career title.
The 27-year-old Kasatkina put in a tremendous effort to clinch her eighth title, and she will enter the top ten rankings worldwide tomorrow (Monday).
