Blinken Begins His Eleventh Trip to the Middle East Since the Gaza War

The U.S. State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to the Middle East today, Monday, to resume ceasefire negotiations in Gaza following the death of Yahya Sinwar, head of Hamas’s political bureau.
This marks Blinken’s eleventh trip since Hamas’s attack on October 7, coinciding with Israel’s intensifying military operations in Gaza and Lebanon against Hezbollah.
Blinken will discuss with regional leaders the importance of ending the war in Gaza, plans for post-war recovery, as well as securing the release of all hostages and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
