Fuel truck explosion kills 11 in Uganda

At least 11 people, including two children, were killed on Tuesday when a fuel truck exploded near a highway, Ugandan police said.

The truck overturned after a crash and later exploded in a town outside the capital Kampala, police said.

Similar incidents have occurred across East Africa in recent years, with at least 62 people killed in Tanzania in 2019 while trying to siphon fuel from a destroyed truck.
