The cyclone “Dana” is approaching the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha, prompting Indian authorities to evacuate thousands of residents from the eastern coastline of the country.
Indian media reported that the Meteorological Department expects the cyclone to make landfall tomorrow evening near the city of Puri. Official sources have issued instructions to close all educational institutions in nine districts of the state until Sunday, in addition to canceling 200 train journeys.
Tourists in the coastal areas of both states have been advised to leave the resorts and move to safer locations.
