Hamas asks Russia to support Abbas in forming a national unity government

During his meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow, Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzouk indicated that the movement hopes Russia will encourage Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to initiate negotiations for forming a national unity government to manage Gaza after the war.
The Russian news agency “Novosti” reported that Abu Marzouk discussed issues related to Palestinian national unity and the formation of a government to administer the Gaza Strip after the conflict.
Mahmoud Abbas, as the President of the Palestinian National Authority, is responsible for making political and administrative decisions.
