Pakistan: Imran Khan’s wife released on bail in case of selling government gifts

The Supreme Court in the Pakistani capital Islamabad announced the release of the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, in a case of selling government gifts.

Bushra Bibi was released after spending 9 months in prison on bail of one million Pakistani rupees (equivalent to 3340.72 euros).

Bibi and her husband Imran Khan, who has been in prison since August, face charges related to the sale of government gifts worth more than 140 million rupees, which Khan received during his term as prime minister between 2018 and 2022 from the state warehouse.
