Chinese star Zheng Qinwen has advanced to the final of the Tokyo 500 tournament in tennis after defeating Russia’s Diana Schneider on Saturday with a score of 7–6 (7–5) and 6–3.

Zheng, ranked first in the tournament and seventh in the world, will face American Sofia Kenin in the final match.

At just 22 years old, Zheng is considered one of the standout players this season, having won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, making her the first Chinese athlete to achieve this feat.
