Sudan: 50 people killed in Rapid Support Forces attack on villages in Al-Jazeera

Fifty people were killed yesterday, Friday, in central Sudan as a result of an attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on several villages in the Al-Jazeera state,which borders Khartoum to the south, according to reports from the Resistance Committees, which are grassroots groups formed during the Sudanese revolution and consist of activists and citizens striving for democracy and justice.
The Resistance Committees’ coordination in the city of Al-Hasaheesa confirmed to foreign media that the villages of Al-Sarihah and Azraq have been under attack since morning, with over 200 injuries reported and difficulties in evacuating the wounded due to ongoing shelling.
Since the beginning of April 2023, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been engaged in a fierce war that has resulted in over 20,000 deaths and 11 million displaced persons and refugees, according to United Nations reports.
